UK Release of Kane
Just so you guys know; Solomon Kane has a UK distributor attached – Entertainment Film Distributors. They’re the biggest indie distributor, having released Lord of the Rings and whole bunch of other huge films in the UK. This kind of material is right up their street and I know they’re really behind the movie. As we’ve only just delivered the movie we’re all waiting on them to decide on a release strategy, dates etc. But I think UK residents can certainly be confident that its going to get to your local multiplex sometime later in the year. Of course, no promises – I’m just the director.
UPDATE: As for the rest of the world, lots of places already on the map and details will follow when I have them to share. .
Any news from Spain distributors…?
Spain has already a distributor too. It’s Aurum/Alliance (The lord of the rings, Twilight, etc) Solomon kane is supposed to be released in August this year! I’m veryyyyy happy about his!

I’m feeling truly terrified here in the US that we aren’t going to get to see this here on the big screen. Stupid US studios! They truly suck!
Can’t blame the studios – we haven’t shown it to them yet. That’s happening over the next few weeks.
Oh that is SO good to hear! I don’t know if there has been another movie ever that I’ve wanted to see more than this one. Really, my heart is set on it. Just saw your tweet about the good response at the big screening today! YESSS…

blogs and am mightily encouraged by everything I’ve read. All the films you’ve praised like Blade Runner and 12 Monkeys are all absolute favourites of mine.I find it interesting that you single
out Monkeys over Brazil, which I also like but not near as much,
probably to the disgust of most geeks or critics out there.I also
liked Body of Lies a lot, without expecting to, though still would like Sir Rid to get back to Fantasy/Sci-Fi.
About Solomon Kane: how in hell did you get this one out under the
radar. The last time a film snuck up on me like this was the Matrix in 99, but the internet is much more all-knowing now than then. Lastly, is Solomon getting any love in this film? Just wondered.

This has all the ingredients to be a huge franchise like the Potter or LOTR movies were back in the day. It amazes me how small coverage this is getting. I just found out this movie existed because ROME is getting the Blu-Ray treatment and being the HUGE fan of James Purefoy that I am, I visited his wikipedia page and learned of the existence of this movie because of a tiny link at the bottom. Watched Michaels’ clip on You tube explaining what the movie was all about and my jaw dropped to the floor. Sorcerers? Devil rippers? 16th century fantasy? JAMES PUREFOY? You had me at sorcerers! I’m so IN!
I wish you the best on your dealings with the US studios Michael. So maybe, this movie will end up sitting in my shelf on Blu-ray someday.

I got my first introduction to the Awesome James Purefoy in ROME and I am forever a fan!! have watched ROME countless times, just watched Diamonds and it was great. I love so many of the dynamic actors of that series, and I am always hungry for more James!!
I have been un-patiently awaiting the release of Solomon Kane and I am desperate at this point!! So MICHAEL, PLEASE GET THIS MOVIE TO US AS SOON AS YOU CAN. I am a big fan of Fantasy, Epic, trilogy type movies.
I know that Solomon Kane is going to be Unbelievable and Powerful!!! I am hooked and I am dreaming of James Purefoy in this role on a daily basis. You rock Michael and I am counting on you big time!
