On all the photo’s I see of you I can’t help thinking that you must be such a fun guy to hang around with. And I saved this in my inbox just for the smile it brings every time.
This is pretty off topic but hey, where else could I write to you? I just sat down with a blu ray copy of Solomon Kane – first time viewing – because I wanted to see the work of the man directing SH – and I loved it. Loved it, loved it, loved it. Praise and trumpets and all that jazz. It was a very engaging film. Very touching, very thrilling and beautifully shot. My hats off to you, the cast, the crew – especially loved the score – and anyone else that had a hand in its crafting.
Hell, I enjoyed it so much that I’m going to force my fiance to sit through it. She wasn’t interested – partially – and somewhat jokingly, I’m sure – because she felt it was too “manly”! But it’s such a grand, moving adventure I have to share it with someone.
So, sir, consider this fan eagerly and patiently awaiting Silent Hill: Revelation’s release to see what you’ve done with the material.
I am looking forward to tracking down your earlier work, Deathwatch and Wilderness. I write for MoreHorror.com (shameless plug but hey!) and am very much looking to add these films to our collection of reviews!
I have saw some photos of “Brookhaven Asylum” in the movie.
Is that building different than the Brookhaven Hospital in the first film??? (since the hospital where Alessa was in the 1st movie was Brookhaven, and not Alchemilla).
Thanks.
There’s an exhibition going on in Toronto celebrating Canadian costume design in movies. Silent Hill Revelation is represented! Take a look at the costumes for The Order!!!
Hello Mr. Bassett! I’ve been reading your blog for a while, but have never commented. I’m glad you kept it going. This post made me laugh; your blog needs more of this type of stuff. Don’t let the Silent Hill fanatics get you down! Good luck with all your upcoming work on the movie until its release. Xoxo.
He doesn’t have it too bad, if anything because Michael has been open about his direction of the movie and wants to stay as close to the source material as possible, people here have been positive in general.
If Michael was Paul W.S Anderson however, I could imagine his blog closing the day it opened, due to the sheer number of unhappy Resident Evil fans upset about how the series was handled in movie form lol
Tu blog está excelente, me encantaría enlazarte en mis sitios webs de Peliculas. Por mi parte te pediría un enlace hacia mis web y asi beneficiar ambos con mas visitas.
Hey Michael, did you ever watch Tangled? Great Disney movie with some catchy tunes, suitable for any age really, I remember you saying on your twitter you watched these CG type movies, interested to see if you’ve seen this one.
Ahahahahahah!!! Is too Skyrim, now the mosters come also in the real life, hope that you don’t find the dragons!! Ahahahahahah!!!
PS: You could also do the actor, you are too funny!
Michael, why are you being so rude? Maybe the nice monster prop just wanted an autograph. Maybe it was frozen solid while it was actually dancing. Maybe it was chopping wood for starved homeless monster children to have a warm fire.
Happy to report now that #GameofThrones' GRR Martin has accepted my offer of a Solomon Kane DVD and will get a chance to decide for himself....tweeted MJB.5 days ago
Read on GRR Martin's blog; he didn't watch his Kane DVD cos "word of mouth has not been good." Wish he'd see for h/self. I think he'd like....tweeted MJB.1 week ago
Great to see old fashioned gothic horror and Hammer films back at the top in the US with #WomanInBlack. Looking forward to seeing it myself....tweeted MJB.3 weeks ago

Glad you like Kane and thanks for letting me know. The more supporters the better for when it finally does come out in the US.
Sorry to ask this, but:

It’s not the same place as SH1.

I’m only funny on rare occasions, so don’t expect it very often

Never seen these in Paris though.
It must be because I’m protected by my French aura. Yes. That explains everything. 8D
Those pesky Uruk-hai, always turning up unannounced and all.
Kudos Michael, cool pic.
Crap, where’s Aragorn when you need him?
Nicely done.

You know, you could have been right. There’s always a different persepctive to be considered.
Those Uruk Hai are tricky buggers. Gotta be careful!
